 let's share 1

 Materials:

      Blocks

 Introduction:

Today we are going to talk about sharing with our friends. Who knows what sharing means? (Some ideas might be to give someone a toy, give some of your food to someone, etc.)

Why is sharing important? (People like it, people will like you better, etc.) Sharing is also important because if you share with someone, they will also share with you.

Let's practice sharing.

Objective/Purpose:

Child will learn the concept of sharing.

Procedure:

1. Select one child to help you demonstrate sharing to the rest of the class.

2. Dump out blocks in front of you and pretend to play with them, not inviting the child to play. Ask children if you are sharing. How do they know? What should sharing look like?

3. Using children's suggestions, give blocks to the other child or work together to build something with the blocks.

4. Repeat this example with another child. You can use some other medium, such as puzzle pieces or play food and cooking utensils from the housekeeping area.

 Practice & Extended Activities:

Children can draw their own pictures of ways they have shared with their friends and these can be put up in the classroom as a reminder to share.
