Course Requirements
|
| This course is open
to anyone working with children with a desire to learn more about how to
handle problem behavior. It is especially geared towards parents,
teachers and other educational staff, counselors or therapists, and
child care providers.
You need not have had college experience to take this course. The
lessons are broken up into short, easy to read segments with lots of
colorful and fun graphics.
You will be required to visit a few suggested websites to further
your understanding of some of the topics. Participation in the open
class forum is not mandated but encouraged for your learning benefit.
Two of the lessons have a short assignment to post your thoughts to the
Class Forum page.
In addition, each of the lessons has a short T/F, Multiple-Choice
quiz assigned to it. You may retake the quizzes as many times as you
like until you master the material. I believe learning is best when the
pressure is off!
The quizzes will account for 1/2 your total grade.
Other assignments include putting together a behavior plan (1/4 of your
grade and don't worry, I will walk you through it!) The remaining
portion of your grade can be self-directed. You may chose to participate
in a live classroom chat where you can interact directly with me and your classmates
on the message board,
elaborate on your behavior plan, visit more links, or something other
related to course content of your design (I'll help you with ideas).
