1.   Control Materials

More is not always better. Sometimes children are overwhelmed with the amount of stimulus we provide them. Too many choices of toys to play with can be just as frustrating as not enough choices.

Tip: Put away MOST of the toys, leaving out just a few selections at a time. Children have a hard time organizing when there is too much clutter. That is why they often have difficulty cleaning it all up when they are asked to put things away. Not only does allowing less toys to be out eliminate a lot of clutter (and yelling at the child to clean things up) but you can then rotate the toys every few weeks and the child will act as if the toys were newly introduced again.

It would seem that something which means poverty, disorder and violence every single day should be avoided entirely, but the desire to beget children is a natural urge.
